Dr. Marco Duguay is a veterinarian with over 5 years of experience in emergency and urgent-care medicine and is the CEO of Urgent Care Group, the Canadian network of employee-owned veterinary urgent care hospitals powered by Galaxy Vets. He graduated from Dalhousie University in 2017 with a degree in Biology and from Atlantic Veterinary College in 2021.
Marco grew up in Bathurst, New Brunswick. In 2023, he co-founded Urgent Care Group with Dr. Ivan Zak and Dr. Ashley Ellsworth. He first served as Director of Analytics before becoming CEO in 2026. Marco continues to work clinical shifts, balancing leadership with hands-on patient care.
Marco is passionate about small animal medicine, especially surgery. He cares for all his furry patients but has a special fondness for cats. At home, he and his wife Mary, along with their daughter, share their lives with four cats: Toby, Evelyn, Ollie, and Louise.
When he is not at the clinic, Marco enjoys spending time with his family. They like to explore local trails, play at the park, and take on DIY projects at home, often making something for the cats. Marco is also interested in technology, from the latest AI developments to vintage cameras and classic electronics.
